TSRTC has signed an agreement with France government to start mini-buses through Integrated Intelligence Transport System from October-end. This facility will enable the commuters to know about the timing and place of buses they want to travel in. TSRTC managing director Ramana Rao said that he took part in an international bus companies’ conference held recently in Germany. “The France government will run mini-buses on pilot basis through Integrated Intelligence Transport System from Kothi to Uppal for nine months.

On its success, the new system will be extended to other places,” he said. France and Germany are plying such buses. Electronic boards using solar power and GPS, will be fixed at selected places. The Integrated Intelligence Transport System will help people to find the timings and place of the buses they are awaiting, he said. “The TSRTC is ready to run electric buses if the Centre extends necessary cooperation,” he said.

Ramana Rao said that the post of executive director in RTC was done away with. The RTC was planning to maintain petrol bunks in five to six months. “Two buses using bio-diesel will be plied from this month-end,” he added.
