TITA celebrates Bathukamma

Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) celebrated Bathukamma festival at Phoenix SEZ in IT corridor on Sunday. A large numbers of IT professionals, along with their families, participated in the event. Women and children, in colourful traditional attire, danced to the melodies of Bathukamma. Prizes were distributed to the best Bathukamma. The event was followed by Dandia programme in the evening.

“The cultural spirit of Telangana is represented by Bathukamma – an arrangement of colourful seasonal flowers with medicinal values stacked usually in seven concentric layers in a conical mound. Maha Gauri Devi is worshipped in the form of Bathukamma during this festival. TITA applauds the Telangana government for recognising Bathukamma as the Telangana State festival and encouraging the denizens to participate in large numbers in this cultural event,” said TITA founder-president Sundeep Kumar Makthala.

Actress Jaya Sudha appreciated Team TITA for organising Bathukamma in the IT corridor. She said that for the first time she participated in Bathukamma and would be interested to participate every year. This event was also attended by music director Chakri’s brother Mahith Narayan, Kondapur corporator Ahmed Patil, political analyst V Prakash, SHE Teams, TITA vice-president Ranapratap Bojjam, general secretary Ashwinchandra, women’s wing secretary Srilatha Chithala, spokesperson Vanam Venkata and others.
