Karimnagar dairy registers record growth

Karimnagar Dairy, which had registered Rs 176 crore turnover last year, has achieved Rs 213 crore sales this year and stood on top position among all the dairies in Telangana. Disclosing the details at the general body meeting of the company on Friday, Karimnagar Dairy chairman Chelmeda Rajeswara Rao said that the dairy has collected 541lakh litres of milk this year against 326 lakh litres during the last year, registering a growth of 65 per cent.

He attributed the increase in the milk production to the efforts made by the farmers. He said the number of farmers attached to the dairy has jumped from 50,000 to 65,000. The transportation cost of one litre milk has come down from 85 paise to 53 paise. He also elaborated several welfare schemes being implemented for the farmers. Dairy Managing Director Sankar Reddy, advisor Hanmatha Reddy, directors and milk society chairmen were present at the meeting.
