Amway India, the direct selling company, is all set to revive its business to the next level with Government of India framing guidelines to steer clear of any misgivings the law enforcers had about the operations of the Company. The Rs 7,500 crore direct selling industry which is growing at a CAGR of 22 % expected to bring cheers to the sagging ‘business owners ‘ of Amway India in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The new norms aim at protecting consumers from frauds by mandating direct sellers to maintain confidentiality of private information of buyers and maintain records of complaint redressal issues.The news guidelines also specifically makes it mandatory for e-tailers and online market places to get prior written consent of the direct selling before soliciting sales.

Amway India, in a statement, said the move would spur the growth of direct selling in India and drive entrepreneurship. “Amway India does not charge any entry fee to the distributors. Further, distributors are free to exit anytime. All of Amway’s products are backed by a refund policy. The guidelines reinforce our faith in India where we have invested more than Rs. 600 crore to set up a world-class manufacturing facility employing, directly and indirectly, close to 1,000 people,” the company said.
