Boxer Juhiya Afreen wins bronze medal

City's budding boxer Juhiya Afreen, a student of NASR school and representing Telangana State, won bronze medal in the 60-63 kg category at the SGF National Boxing Competition held at Warangal from October 3 to 8. She won the medal by beating Sriya of Madhya Pradesh in the quarter finals.
Previously, she won gold medal at the SGFI Telangana State boxing competition held at Warangal. The boxer won the finals in 20 seconds by TKO. Juhiya Afreen is being trained by Omkar Nath Yadav at L B Stadium. Juhiya is studying in class XI at Nasr School. She took up boxing in 2015 and swiftly mastered the skills to reach national competition. Her height and power makes her intimidating in the boxing ring.
